Why Mediation for Divorce and Family Law?

Mediation is the voluntary process where a neutral third party (the mediator) assists parties to a dispute in reaching a compromise that resolves a pending dispute or litigation. In the context of a divorce or family law case, using mediation can help save parties from the high cost and uncertainty of outcomes associated with contested litigation.

Mediation accomplishes this by encouraging a cooperative approach to resolve issues, as opposed to the adversarial nature of traditional litigation and court proceedings. Because of this, outcomes achieved through mediation have been shown to result in a higher overall quality of outcome for participants and families when compared to litigation.

Our office provides mediation services to families in all matters relating to divorce and family law in Virginia. For more information schedule your free initial consultation by calling (703) 249-9007 or using the contact form below.
